  • LUMS NOP Outreach Expands to Interior Sindh and Karachi

    The LUMS National Outreach Programme recently conducted a series of awareness sessions in four cities across Sindh, including Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Umerkot, and Karachi, engaging with over 1,020 students from 11 colleges. This initiative aimed to create pathways to higher education for students in these regions, many of whom had limited prior exposure to the opportunities available through LUMS.

    The sessions were held at key institutions such as Shah Abdul Latif Govt. Boys Degree College, Ibne Rushd Girls College, and Szabist School & Intermediate College in Mirpurkhas; Saddique Faqeer Boys College, Govt. College for Girls, and Allah Dino Shaheed Army Public School in Mithi; Govt. College Boys and Girls and Bright Future Public College in Umerkot; and NJV College Boys and Girls in Karachi.

    The sessions offered valuable insights into the admissions process, emphasizing career counseling for pre-medical students and showcasing opportunities in SBASSE and various other fields at LUMS. FA students were guided toward exploring MGSHSS programs, presenting them with academic pathways tailored to their aspirations.

    A highlight of the outreach was the active participation of local principals and teachers, including Mr. Bhawani Shankar from Saddique Faqeer Govt. College Mithi and Mr. Abdul Rauf from Govt. College Boys Umerkot. These educators worked closely with the NOP team, helping to facilitate productive counseling sessions and supporting the initiative’s goals.

    Another key moment was the involvement of SCS 2024 participants, who took to the stage to share their experiences. Their inspiring stories motivated younger students to apply for NOP SCS 2025, showcasing how the program can transform lives and open doors to unparalleled academic opportunities.

  • LUMS NOP Outreach Expands to Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Charsadda

    The LUMS National Outreach Programme recently conducted its outreach sessions across four major cities—Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Charsadda—reaching 15 colleges and interacting with over 1,200 students. This initiative continues to ensure that talented students from diverse and underserved communities gain access to the opportunities offered by LUMS.

    Key institutions visited included Islamia College University (Boys and Girls), Afridi Model School and College Peshawar, The Fazle Haq College Mardan, Cadet College Girls Mardan, Peace College Charsadda, and Frontier College for Women Peshawar, among others. For the first time, the NOP team partnered with Al-Asar Academy Usterzai Payan in Kohat, a collaboration with a dedicated education welfare organization.

    The sessions were designed to guide students through the opportunities provided by LUMS, with a specific focus on career counseling for pre-medical students, introduction to pure sciences in SBASSE, and programs such as the MGSHSS at LUMS. Students received step-by-step guidance on preparing for and applying to NOP SCS, and counselors were trained to assist their students in filling out the application forms.

    A highlight of the visit was the team’s return to Cadet College Girls Mardan after several years. The administration welcomed the initiative, and the cadets demonstrated strong eligibility and interest in NOP. Across all sessions, the team received positive feedback from institutions visited for the first time, where principals and head teachers expressed a keen interest in encouraging their students to explore LUMS further.

    Through this outreach, the LUMS NOP continues to bridge the gap between quality education and talented students from diverse backgrounds. The program remains committed to building meaningful relationships with schools, fostering academic growth, and empowering students to achieve their aspirations.

  • LUMS NOP Awareness Sessions: Mianwali
    NOP

    The LUMS National Outreach Programme conducted outreach sessions in 13 colleges across five cities—Quaidabad, Khushab, Harnoli/Piplan, Paharpur, and Dera Ismail Khan—engaging with over 850 students from diverse academic backgrounds. This year, the program expanded its footprint by including the cities of Quaidabad and Paharpur for the first time and adding four new colleges to its outreach efforts. These sessions aimed to inform students about the opportunities available at LUMS, support their preparation for university life, and strengthen their academic foundation.

    Students from Olympia Model Schools in Quaidabad, PCC Boys and Girls in Khushab, Daanish Schools in Harnoli/Piplan, Al Abbas College and Iqra Science and College in Paharpur, and Wensam College in Dera Ismail Khan participated in the sessions. The program provided these students with crucial guidance on preparing for the LUMS LCAT and understanding the SCS application process. In addition, counselors from these schools were trained to assist students in filling out applications accurately and effectively, ensuring they are well-prepared to take their first steps toward becoming LUMS students.

    A highlight of the outreach sessions was the participation of an SCS 2024 student from Kafirkot, who joined the team in her hometown to share her inspiring journey. Her story resonated with the students and motivated them to consider applying for NOP SCS 2025. Principals from Al Abbas Colleges expressed keen interest in bringing their students to visit the LUMS campus, strengthening the connection between the program and local educational institutions.

    The outreach initiative was supported by donors such as Al Moiz Industries and Olympia, whose contributions enabled the team to engage with students from matriculation, first-year, and second-year classes in new regions. These sessions provided students with the resources, information, and encouragement they need to pursue higher education at LUMS, ensuring that talented students from all backgrounds have access to the opportunities they deserve. The LUMS NOP continues to empower communities by fostering academic excellence and broadening access to quality education.

  • LUMS NOP Awareness Sessions: Expanding Educational Access in Gilgit-Baltistan

    LUMS recently carried out a series of NOP Awareness sessions across Gilgit-Baltistan, visiting 31 colleges in 13 cities including Skardu, Kharmang, Roundu, Shigar, and Khaplu. These sessions reached 1,510 students, aiming to introduce them to higher education opportunities and provide career counseling.

    For the first time, the team visited institutions in Murtazabad, Sost, Kharmang, Shigar, Khaplu, and Roundu, strengthening ties with local communities. A special session was held at Uswa College in Skardu, where 15 students selected for SCS 2024 prepared for their LUMS admissions. In Shigar, an SCS 2024 participant from the area assisted with the session, sharing his experience, and motivating junior students to apply for NOP SCS.

    Throughout the sessions, students from FA backgrounds were encouraged to explore the MGSHSS programs at LUMS. Pre-medical students were introduced to career options in SBASSE and other dynamic fields offered by the university. Teachers and counselors were also provided with guidance on how to complete the SCS 2025 application, ensuring students have the support they need.

    Additionally, Alumni Stories were shared to inspire students, while SCS 2024 participants offered advice to new candidates applying for SCS 2025.

    These efforts reflect LUMS’ ongoing commitment to broadening access to education and supporting future leaders through the National Outreach Programme. We continue to foster connections with local schools to help students from all backgrounds pursue their academic goals.

  • LUMS NOP Awareness Sessions: Strengthening Educational Ties Across Azad Jammu & Kashmir

    LUMS continues to strengthen its commitment to providing quality education through the National Outreach Programme (NOP), bringing opportunities to students from diverse and underserved regions. Recently, the NOP team embarked on an extensive series of awareness sessions across 10 cities in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, engaging with over 1,010 students from 26 colleges. This outreach initiative extended to areas like Neelum Valley, Athmaqam, Rawalakot, Kotli, and Sudhanti/Dhirkot—regions where awareness of the program had previously been limited.

    The sessions were held in prominent institutions, including Punjab College Boys and Girls in Mirpur, Read Foundation schools across multiple cities, FG Inter College in Kotli, Learners College in Bhimber, Captain Hussain Shaheed College in Rawalakot, and NISH College in Athmaqam. At each location, the team worked closely with school principals and head teachers, aiming to build lasting relationships that would pave the way for students to explore the opportunities offered through the NOP. Many of these educational leaders expressed interest in nominating their top-performing students and collaborating with the NOP Centre to guide their students toward LUMS.

    This outreach effort was about more than just informing students of opportunities—it was about equipping them for success. Students from FA backgrounds were encouraged to consider programs like MGSHSS, while pre-medical students were introduced to the dynamic fields of study available in SBASSE and other LUMS majors. The sessions also focused on practical guidance, covering LCAT preparation, FA assessment forms, and the admissions process to ensure students had the tools they needed to navigate their applications confidently.

    A key moment of the outreach was the visit to Read Foundation in Muzaffarabad, where current SCS 2024 participants shared their personal journeys with younger students. Their stories of perseverance and success inspired many juniors to consider applying for NOP SCS 2025. This interaction fostered a sense of community and showed students what was possible with determination and access to quality education.

    The impact of this initiative was far-reaching. For the first time, the NOP team visited new cities like Sudhanti/Dhirkot, Rawalakot, Neelum Valley, and Bagh, giving students from these areas a chance to explore higher education at LUMS. Local principals and teachers enthusiastically embraced the initiative, sharing details of their best students and expressing a strong desire to maintain active collaboration with the program. The team also offered specialized support to SCS 2024 participants, helping them prepare for the LCAT and navigate the admissions process successfully.

By reaching out to students in underrepresented areas, LUMS NOP is not only creating opportunities but also nurturing future leaders and empowering students to dream bigger.     As part of its ongoing mission to expand access to quality education, LUMS recently conducted awareness sessions in six cities across northern Pakistan through its National Outreach Programme. Engaging 1,010 students from 14 colleges, the outreach spanned Abbottabad, Mansehra, Qalandarabad, Batrasi, Haripur, and Havelian/Lahore. The sessions aimed to introduce students to the opportunities available through LUMS NOP SCS 2025 while fostering deeper relationships with local educational institutions.

    The outreach included visits to prominent schools and colleges, including Tameer-i-Wattan Schools (Boys and Girls) in Abbottabad and Mansehra, Progressive Public School Abbottabad, Dubai Public School and College Mansehra, Peace College Haripur, GPGC for Men and Women in Haripur, and Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi. This year’s initiative also introduced NOP to four new colleges, broadening the program’s reach and ensuring that students in underserved regions were made aware of the academic opportunities available at LUMS.
    The sessions served multiple purposes. They provided a platform for principals and teachers to engage with the NOP team, resulting in strengthened ties with existing partner institutions and the establishment of new relationships with schools. 

    Principals from Tameer-i-Wattan Schools expressed interest in organizing campus tours for their students, offering them a firsthand experience of the university environment. Additionally, the team revisited prior contacts to reinforce partnerships and encourage broader participation in the programme.

    To support students during the application process, the NOP team provided comprehensive training for student counselors. This training focused on accurately completing the SCS application, equipping counselors with the tools they need to guide students through each step confidently and efficiently. By ensuring that counselors are well-prepared, LUMS aims to make the application process smoother for both students and their schools.

    A highlight of the outreach was the involvement of an SCS 2024 participant from Shigar, who returned to his hometown to assist with the session. Sharing his journey to LUMS, he inspired junior students to see NOP as a viable pathway to higher education. His story resonated with students, offering them both motivation and a tangible example of what could be achieved through determination and access to opportunities.

    Career counseling formed a vital part of the sessions, with tailored advice offered to students across various academic tracks. Those from an FA background were encouraged to consider MGSHSS programs, while pre-medical students explored fields in SBASSE and other dynamic majors at LUMS. This comprehensive guidance ensured that every student could envision a pathway that aligned with their academic interests and aspirations.

    The LUMS National Outreach Programme recently extended its reach to the Swat Valley, conducting awareness sessions in six cities and engaging with 1,040 students from 13 colleges. This initiative focused on introducing students to the LUMS NOP Summer Coaching Session 2025, guiding them on available programs, and encouraging applications from talented individuals across the region.

    The outreach included visits to prominent institutions such as Edward College (Boys and Girls) and Islamia Model College in Timmergara, Govt. PG Jahanzeb College Swat, Cadet College Swat, and Dr. Khan Shaheed Govt. Degree College Kabal. Other notable institutions included Tipu Shaheed School and College in Kabal, The Peace College and Government Girls Degree College in Kanju, and Dawn School and College in Mingora. The sessions provided students with critical insights into LUMS’ academic programs and the admissions process while fostering a connection between the university and the region's educational institutions.

    For the first time, the NOP team visited the areas of Kabal and Kanju, where significant interest was shown by principals and administrators. These institutions were eager to collaborate further and encourage their students to pursue opportunities at LUMS. A highlight of the outreach was the return to Cadet College Swat after several years. The administration responded positively, and the cadets displayed strong eligibility for the NOP, showcasing the potential for military-oriented institutions to contribute to the diversity of LUMS’ student body.

  • LUMS NOP Awareness Sessions: Islamabad Chapter

    NOP Team conducted a series of impactful NOP Awareness sessions across 15 colleges in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, reaching a total of 1,580 students. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan under the Education Info Fair 2025. Our goal was to provide crucial guidance and opportunities to students from various educational backgrounds, helping them make informed decisions about their future. 

    The institutions visited included Scienta Vision School & College (Boys and Girls G-10/2 and G-10/4), IMCB F-10/3, Imperial College Islamabad, IMCG (PG) F-6/2, Fazaia Intermediate College, IMCB Pakistan Town, Ali Trust Cadet College, Dr. AQ Khan College, Concordia College Islamabad, College of Home Economics F-11/1, and IMCG G-10/4. Each of these institutions warmly welcomed our team, allowing us to engage with diverse groups of students.

    During these sessions, students from FA backgrounds were encouraged to apply for the MGSHSS program at LUMS, expanding their academic horizons. Pre-medical students received comprehensive guidance on fields like pure sciences in SBASSE and other diverse majors that LUMS offers. Special training sessions were held for teachers and counselors to guide them on the SCS application 2025, ensuring a smoother application process for students. The sessions also featured motivational stories from LUMS alumni, inspiring students to pursue their academic and career goals. NOP SCS 2024 participants were invited to share their experiences with the new candidates, creating a sense of mentorship and community as they prepared for the 2025 application cycle. This outreach underscores LUMS’ ongoing commitment to providing educational access and supporting the next generation of scholars and leaders through the National Outreach Programme (NOP).

  • Charting New Paths: Rahim Yar Khan's Experience with LUMS NOP

    In the bustling city of Rahim Yar Khan, the LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) team embarked on a journey of empowerment and enlightenment. Engaging with students, educators, and institutions, we set out to unlock doors of opportunity and ignite sparks of ambition.

     

     

    Our team visited colleges and schools across the city, spreading awareness about the transformative educational opportunities offered by LUMS. With a focus on fostering academic exploration and personal growth, we shared insights into the social sciences and humanities programmes available at LUMS' Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS).

     

     

    We led pre-medical students towards considering alternative career paths beyond conventional medical routes, urging them to venture into new territories. Furthermore, we conducted specialized training sessions for educators on completing the SCS application for 2024, arming them with the necessary tools and insights to assist students adeptly during the application phase.

     

     

    Meetings with principals provided an opportunity to address general issues faced by students throughout the NOP scholarship process, fostering open dialogue and collaboration to streamline procedures and enhance the overall experience for aspiring scholars.

     

     

    In total, our outreach efforts reached 1150 students across 14 colleges in four cities. 

    Throughout our experience in Rahim Yar Khan, collaboration, empowerment, and a collective dedication to educational advancement defined our path. We deeply appreciate the warm welcome extended to us by the institutions, stakeholders, and students alike. Upon contemplation of the impactful endeavors and significant relationships formed during our outreach endeavor, we are struck by the profound influence of education. Collectively, we are dismantling barriers and unlocking avenues of opportunity for deserving students nationwide.

    Building Bridges: LUMS NOP's Impactful Visit to Sukkur

    The echoes of inspiration still resonate as we look back on our recent journey through Sukkur and its neighboring regions. The LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) team embarked on a mission of empowerment, engaging with students and institutions to illuminate pathways to success.

     

     

    In Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Daharki, we witnessed the potential of young minds and the dedication of educational institutions. At Sukkur Boys and Girls Colleges, both 1st and 2nd-year students were guided on opportunities through the LUMS regular admission cycle in November 2024.

     

     

     

    Our visit to Ghazali College in Ghotki was particularly enlightening, as we were given a tour of the campus and learned about their future initiatives to expand educational opportunities. A new academic building equipped with essential facilities promises a brighter future for students.

     

     

    At Cadet College Ghotki, the Vice Principal's proactive approach to appointing a dedicated teacher for NOP applications showcased their commitment to student success. A WhatsApp group exclusively for NOP applications was created, fostering a supportive environment for students.

     

     

    Similarly, Govt College Khairpur's proactive stance in creating student accounts before our visit exemplified their dedication to facilitating the application process. The interactive session allowed students to address queries, ensuring a seamless application experience.

     

     

    Our journey in Sukkur was marked by collaboration, empowerment, and a shared commitment to educational excellence. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the institutions, stakeholders, and students who welcomed us with open arms. Your enthusiasm and dedication inspire us to continue our mission of empowering the next generation of leaders.

     

     

     

    As we reflect on the impactful initiatives and meaningful connections made during our outreach visit, we are reminded of the transformative power of education. Together, we are breaking barriers and opening doors of opportunity for deserving students across Pakistan.
