Humbal Tariq is an adjunct faculty at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He also teaches Entrepreneurial Finance to startups at National Incubation Centre – Baluchistan University (BUITEMS) and Entrepreneurship in Centre for Continuing Education Studies (CES) in Summer and Winter School. He has authored two books on the Meat Industry of Pakistan, written a case study on Performance Management for LUMS, and published a research article on Iqbal’s philosophy on ijtihad: “The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam”. Previously he has taught electives from Marketing and Business Strategy to EMBA in Institute of Business and Management (IBM), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore.

Humbal brings with him a diverse background of organizations and industry knowledge. He has worked in government, semi-government, NGOs, corporates, public and private organizations. He has been a founder of multiple startups and also runs his private business consultancy practice. Before joining LUMS he was working with the United Nations (UN) as a National Consultant on policy making for Pakistan.

He holds an MBA degree from LUMS and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from National University (FAST-NU) Lahore.
