Dr. Shakeel Sadiq Jajja is Professor at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), where he also serves as Associate Dean (Graduate Programs). He has held several leadership roles at SDSB, including Director of the Executive MBA Program, Faculty Director of the Rausing Executive Development Center, and Founding Director of the MS in Supply Chain and Retail Management.
In 2023, Professor Jajja held a one-year appointment at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability under the Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship. He has also participated in the Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2025 and the Global Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning at Harvard Business School, Boston, in 2017–18. He completed his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (AACSB accredited) in 2013, an M.S. in Total Quality Management from the University of the Punjab (graduating first in his class and earning a Gold Medal) in 2006, and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, in 2004.
Professor Jajja’s research and scholarship have significantly advanced knowledge on technology, sustainability, and innovation in organizations and supply chains. His work has been frequently published in leading journals, including Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Production Planning & Control, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Journal of Logistics Management, Computers & Industrial Engineering, and Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management. He has guest-edited a special issue of the International Journal of Logistics Management on the impact of technology on supply chains in emerging and informal markets. Professor Jajja regularly presents his research at renowned conferences such as INFORMS, Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and European Operations Management Association (EUROMA). His pedagogical materials, including cases and notes, have been published by Harvard Business School Publishing, the Case Research Journal of the North American Case Research Association, and the Asian Journal of Management Cases. He has authored cases on organizations such as Service Industries Limited, Millat Tractors Limited, Khaadi, Systems Limited, Interloop, TCS, Daraz.pk, Nayatel, Reon, Metro Cash & Carry, and Qadri Group.
Professor Jajja has led numerous impactful research grants and projects, including the multi-year initiative “Electrification: A First Step Towards Sustainable Mobility in Pakistan,” funded by the CPEC Collaborative Research Grants, and a project on minimizing lead adulteration in the turmeric supply chain in Pakistan, funded by Stanford University. His research has earned several prestigious awards, including best research paper and case awards from international platforms such as DSI, POMS, and the Western Academy of Management. During his Ph.D., he received the Best Student Paper Award at the Annual Meeting of DSI, the Emerging Economy Doctoral Student Award at the Annual Conference of POMS, and the Best Graduate Student Paper Award at the Annual Meeting of Western DSI. He also received the Doctoral Fellowship of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia, enabling collaborations with institutions such as the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and the Indian School of Business Hyderabad.
Professor Jajja has extensive experience in executive education and consulting. He has designed, directed, and taught numerous open-enrollment and customized executive education programs covering both general management and specialized areas such as supply chain management, retail management, public and private sector procurement management, problem-solving and decision-making, technology and innovation management, participant-centered pedagogy, project management, sustainability in business, and family business governance. His consultancy services and tailored executive education programs have benefited a wide range of organizations, including international entities like The World Bank, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Wateen Telecom, Haier Pakistan, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), WEConnect International, SAARC Energy Center, International Resources Group, and Carrefour Pakistan, as well as numerous Pakistani organizations such as Atlas Group, Fauji Fertilizer, Pakistan Institute of Petroleum, GENCO Holding Company, Tapal Private Limited, Packages Group companies, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited, Punjab Reform Management Program, Punjab Irrigation Department, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority, Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation Punjab, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KP Irrigation and Agriculture Department, Qadri Group, Institute of Business Administration Sukkur, Air University, Peshawar Electric Supply Company, Super Asia Group, and Lahore University of Management Sciences. His work has had a profound influence on executive development and strategic decision-making.
Before joining LUMS, Professor Jajja served as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, in 2013. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Pakistan International Airlines, Atlas Honda, and Dawood Hercules Chemicals Limited between 2005 and 2008.
